Designer

Position
Working as part of a design team of experienced technicians and engineers, the designer will develop automation solutions to improve commercial, institutional, and industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems performance. They also work on a variety of control projects involving other building systems (access, video, lighting).
Responsabilities
- Designing HVAC diagrams and control sequences
- Participating in lighting and security control projects and other building systems design
- Analyzing needs and selecting appropriate equipment
- Suggesting equivalent components in line with clients’ technical requirements
- Working with estimators on special projects and design-build projects
- Actively participating in start-up and end-of-project meetings
Requirements
- DEC or bachelor's degree in building mechanics or industrial electronics technology or equivalent
- Controls experience an asset
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Adaptability, good judgment, and autonomy
- Functional English (required since manufacturers’ documentation is in English, some clients are English-speaking, and we carry out projects in Ontario as well as occasionally elsewhere in Canada)
