Director of Finance

Our team is looking for its future Director of Finance who will become a key player in business development and decision-making tools in accounting and finance. We are looking for a rigorous, strategic-thinking colleague who is a skilled communicator, a good communicator and has strong planning and priority management skills.

Reporting to the President, he will be responsible for the accounting and finance of the company. In addition, he will be in charge of a team of five team members. He will guide the teams and management through organizational changes, the implementation of practices and standards adapted to our context and will act as anexpert accountant both internally and externally.

Votre mission

  • Plan and direct all operational functions related to accounting
  • Oversee the completion of month-end closing and related tasks
  • Supervise activities related to payroll preparation
  • Verify and sign releases and disclosures
  • Ensure cash management
  • Prepare annual financial reports and various quarterly cost reports
  • Prepare, analyze and transmit the information required for the consolidation of financial statements, as needed
  • Evaluate, coordinate and optimise the existing budget process
  • Evaluate current accounting activities and make recommendations for improvement and implement new processes as required
  • Provide management with the financial information needed to make business decisions
  • Identify funding needs and coordinate the implementation of funding processes
  • Prepare and manage financing and investment files
  • Managing investor and investment agency relations
  • Coordinate and oversee the activities and maintenance of relationships with external auditors
  • Analyze the financial risks and benefits of business initiatives
  • Assess and manage business risks and insurance requirements
  • Develop and implement performance indicators and monitor them
  • Develop accounting policies and procedures and ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Participate in the staffing and development of personnel under his/her supervision
  • Collaborate with management to make decisions regarding the development of the accounting portion of the information systems.

Profil recherché

  • Holds a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or related field
  • Is a member of the Ordre des CPA du Québec
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Minimum 2 years experience in team management
  • Experience in the construction or real estate industry (essential)
  • Proficiency in the Office suite, Acomba and Divalto (an asset)
  • Demonstrates autonomy, integrity and initiative
  • Interest and ability to manage several files simultaneously
  • Demonstrates rigor, judgment and autonomy
  • Possesses strong mobilizing leadership, excellent ability to manage priorities and strong organizational skills
  • Is bilingual (an asset)
  • Demonstrates a good knowledge of the SME environment (an asset)
